You want to eat "better," so you ban certain foods... but why are these exactly the ones that haunt you?

The beginning of the trap

Remember that time you promised yourself you'd stop eating chocolate? For the first few days, everything was fine. You were proud of your willpower. Then, little by little, the craving became more present. At first, just a fleeting thought. Then an obsession.

And one evening, after a difficult day, you cracked. One piece, then two, then the whole bar. As soon as you finished it, guilt overwhelmed you. You swore to yourself you'd never do it again.

Except a few days later… the same scenario repeated itself.

Why is it always like this?

The Paradox of Forbidden Foods

When we demonize a food, we think we're controlling it. But in reality, it's the food that's taking up all the space in our heads.

1️⃣ The more forbidden it is, the more tempting it becomes

This is the "forbidden fruit" effect: as soon as a food is banned, it takes on enormous emotional and symbolic value. It becomes irresistible.

2️⃣ Deprivation leads to compulsion

Your body doesn't understand "no-gos." It perceives them as a threat and triggers intense food cravings to compensate.

3️⃣ The feeling of failure fuels the vicious cycle

Every binge feels like a failure. We feel guilty, we tighten our restrictions... and the next compulsion is even stronger.

The solution: break out of the cycle of restriction → frustration → cracking → guilt

What if, instead of banning them, you learned to incorporate these foods into your daily life?

👉 Giving yourself unconditional permission to eat reduces obsession.

👉 Reconnecting with your feelings of hunger and satiety helps you eat with pleasure, without excess.

👉 Distinguishing between physical and emotional hunger prevents you from compensating with food.

It's not a lack of willpower, it's a biological and psychological mechanism that you can deconstruct.

🎯 What you can do right now:

Write down your "forbidden" foods. Which ones make you crave them the most?

Add them gradually to your meals, mindfully. Observe what happens.

Stop feeling guilty. Your body deserves to be nourished with pleasure and kindness.
