Why Willpower Isn't the Answer to Compulsive Eating
Marie-Myriem MOKRANIShare
You think you lack willpower.
You blame yourself for not holding on, again.
You promised yourself you'd eat better, stop snacking, and "take back control."
And yet, the compulsions return.
You eat without being hungry. You feel guilty.
And you end up saying to yourself, "It's my fault. I'm weak."
But what if I told you that you have nothing to reproach yourself for?
The problem is not the will
You can be determined, motivated, disciplined...
But when your body is lacking, when your mind is tense,
compulsions become a survival mechanism , not a whim.
It is neither a weakness nor a failure.
It's an alarm. A signal that something inside you needs attention.
What you are experiencing is legitimate
Compulsions can be due to:
- an overly restrictive diet (physical or mental),
- unmet emotional needs,
- chronic stress or fatigue,
- a need for comfort or pleasure.
The more you deny yourself, the more likely you are to crack.
And the more you blame yourself, the more you cut yourself off from the real solution.
The real solution: appeasement, not control
Learn to listen to yourself.
To recognize your real needs.
To rebuild a relationship of trust with your body and your plate.
This is what I teach you in my program: complete support to permanently break out of the cycle of compulsions without frustration or dieting.
